The Marianna Bulldog wrestlers took their talents to the Gator Brawl in Wewa this past weekend and faced some really tough competition. That being said, the Bulldogs finished in sixth place as a team.

Three Bulldogs showed  up and showed out at the Brawl beginning with John Maddox who was named the 170-pound Gator Brawl Champion.  Taking second place in the 195-weight class was Jonah Mercer with Corey Davis bringing home third in the 182-weight division.

More good news came the Bulldogs way with new rankings released January 15 from The Florida Wrestling Room.

John Maddox is ranked ninth in the state in the 170-pound class while Corey Davis earned the tenth- place ranking in the 182-pound class. Neal Smith is ranked 11th in the 113-pound class.

The Bulldogs will next travel to Wakulla on February 02 to compete in the Wakulla IBT.
