Last Tuesday night, the Marianna Bulldogs traveled to Graceville to take on the Tigers. This game was originally scheduled for October 12, but the teams were unable to meet due to Hurricane Michael. This was the first week back for both schools and the students were ready for a regular football game. This game was also Graceville’s Senior Night.

The Tigers scored the first touchdown of the night. Xavian Sorey went 93 yards for the Tigers, bringing the crowd to their feet. The two-point conversion failed but the Tigers had a 6-0 lead early in the game.

Joseph Claiborne put his name in the stats book when he found the endzone from nine yards out just before the end of the first quarter. The two-point conversion was successful, making it a 14-0 Tigers lead.

The second quarter was a defensive battle with neither team able to score, keeping the Tiger lead at 14-0 at the half.

Sorey tacked on another touchdown for the Tigers in the third quarter on a 30-yard run with a failed two-point conversion. The Tigers attempted another two-point conversion but the Bulldogs defense held.

The Bulldogs scored their first touchdown in the fourth quarter, taking the goose egg off the scoreboard. Damon Rolle brought the crowd to life on a 49-yard run fox six points. The extra point attempt failed but the ‘Dawgs had narrowed the deficit to 20-6.

Brady Donaldson connected on a 12-yard pass to Jeremiah Castro for the Bulldogs next score. Victor Debeux was right through the uprights for the extra point.

The Tigers scored the final touchdown of the night. Joseph Claiborne went 27 yards on the ground for the score. The Tigers were unable to capitalize on a two-point conversion but had more than enough for the win.

The final score for the night was 26-13 Tigers way.
