Grand Ridge caps off perfect season with conference championship

Grand Ridge Indians are Conference Champions Grand Ridge Indians are Conference Champions Contributed

The Grand Ridge Lady Indians capped off a perfect season last Friday when they took the Conference Championship by winning in two sets over Cottondale to advance to the championship game. They beat Roulhac in two sets to claim the CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP!

In the first round of the conference games, Grand Ridge defeated Roulhac a 25-10 and a 25-12 to set up a match with Cottondale. The Indians dealt Cottondale 25-21 and 25-20 to claim the conference championship.

The ‘B’ team completed their season earlier in the week with a perfect 10-0 record.  The A team entered the conference tournament with an equally unblemished 10-0 record. After sweeping the tournament, the Lady Indians end their season with a 12-0 record.

The team was anchored a solid eighth grade crew.  Those ‘seniors’ were Stacy White, Kennady Harrell, Macey Franklin, TR Howell, Kaitlyn Chumley, Mikaelin Branch, and Aurlee Perkins.

Congratulations to the Grand Ridge volleyball team, coaches, parents, and supporters on an awesome season from the publisher and staff of the Jackson County Times.
