Drug search warrant and arrests

On Friday, February 3, 2017, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force concluded an ongoing investigation in the illegal distribution of narcotics in Marianna, Florida. A search warrant was executed at a residence located off of Sixth Avenue. The investigation and subsequent search warrant came as a result of numerous citizen complaints and tips indicating that the suspect, Jerry Upshaw, Jr., was regularly distributing Marijuana from this location.

During the course of the search,Investigators located a large quantity of high grade Marijuana, some of which was pre-packaged for sale, a quantity of ”Molly”, numerous firearms, paraphernalia and U.S. Currency. At the conclusion of the investigation, Jerry Upshaw, Jr., Edmund Garrett and Corissa McCallister were placed under arrest and charged with the following:

Arrested: Jerry Upshaw, Jr, 38 years of age, of Marianna 

Charges: possession of marijuana with intent to sale within 1,000 feet of a housing authority, possession of alpha-pvp “molly” with intent to sale within 1,000 feet of a housing authority, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of state probation

Arrested: Edmund Garrett, 36 years of age, of Marianna 

Charges: possession of marijuana with intent to sale within 1,000 feet of a housing authority, possession of drug paraphernalia

Arrested: Corissa McCallister, 31 years of age, of Marianna 

Charges: possession of marijuana with intent to sale within 1,000 feet of a housing authority, possession of drug paraphernalia

Sheriff Lou Roberts and the Jackson County Drug Task Force are committed to continuing to rid our community of any and all dangerous drugs and will continue to target and actively pursue anyone who chooses to manufacture, deliver, transport and possess illegal narcotics in our County.
