Minnie Lee Styles Bowers

Mrs. Minnie Lee Styles Bowers of Marianna, FL Jerusalem Community transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Thursday, June 22, 2017 in Jackson Hospital.  

She was a member of the New Galilee Missionary Baptist Church and the wife of the late Rev. R.J. Bowers.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at 2:00 P.M. at Second West Missionary Baptist Association 4110 Herring Avenue Marianna, FL with Rev. Wallace Godwin, Min. Nathaniel Pollock Jr., Min. George E. Bowers Jr., Min. Jeffrey Bowers Jr., and Rev. George E. Bowers Sr., Officiating.

Interment will be in the New Galilee Cemetery.

Vann Funeral Home will be in charge of the service.

The viewing will be held on Friday June 30, 2017 from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Vann Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bowers will lie in repose at Second West from 1:00 P.M. until time for the service.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, a loving and devoted family:

Five Daughters:  Rosa Pollock, Lorain Hardy (Roosevelt), Minnie L. Williams (Gary) and Eara Brown (Kevin), all of Marianna, FL and Carlean Merritt (Shedrick) of Clinton Township, MI;

Five Sons: Robert J. Bowers Jr., Rev. George Bowers (Verda), and Rev. Eddie E. Bowers (Sonya), all of Marianna, FL; Monar Bowers of Quincy, FL and Rev. Danny Bowers (Karen) of Chattanooga, TN

Brothers-in-Law: Deacon James Bowers (Alice) of Tampa, FL and Rev. John H. Bowers (Eileen) of Marianna, FL

Sister-in-Law: Lillie Lovett of Tampa, FL

Three Nieces: Teresa Yon (Chester) of Tampa, FL; Lillie Speights and Joyce Chapman, both of Marianna, FL

Forty-one Grandchildren; Seventy-three Great Grandchildren and Five Great, Great Grandchildren

And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many, many sorrowing friends

Mr. John Richard Holland Jr., affectionately known as “Ricky,” of West Palm Beach, FL transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Friday, June 16, 2017.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at The Central New Testament Church of God 1111 Fairfield Drive West Palm Beach, FL, with Rev. James H. Chester Officiating.  

Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery, Rivera Beach, FL.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Vann Funeral Home located at 4265 Saint Andrews Street in Marianna, Florida with Minister Richard Davis officiating. Interment in the Orange Hill Cemetery in Marianna, Florida. Vann Funeral Home in charge.

She leaves to cherish a lifetime of love and precious memories, a loving family:

Two Daughters: Myrtice Dexter of Lakeland, Florida; and Gloria Solomon (Cleo) who was also her caregiver of Plant City, Florida

Son: Lewis Lucas (Altamease) of Brandon, Florida

Two Brothers: Richard Davis (Peggy) of Quitman, Georgia; Arthur Davis (Libby) of Texas

Brother-in-Law: Samuel Lovett (Josie) of Lake City, Florida

22 Grandchildren; 59 Great Grandchildren; 14 Great-Great Grandchildren

Godchildren: Sharon McMillon of Marianna, Florida; Gertrude Garciga of Sneads, Florida; Elouise of Plant City, Florida

Edna E. Brown

Ms. Edna E. Brown of Cottondale, Florida transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 in Marianna Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Ms. Brown was a member of Henshaw Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Celebration of Life servcies will be held Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. from the sanctuary of the Henshaw Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church with Minister Barbara White, Prophet Willie Clark, Reverend David Greene and Reverend Lawrence Gantt, Sr., (Pastor) Officiating. Interment will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Vann Funeral Home is in charge.

The viewing will be held Friday, June 16, 2017 from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Vann Funeral Home.

Mrs. Brown will lie in repose at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time for the service.

She leaves to cherish a lifetime of memories, a loving and devoted family:

Two Daughters: Betty Hall of Lynn Haven, FL; and Annie Kelly of West Palm Beach, FL

Four Sons: Willie Reed; Marvin Hall; and Chris Clemmons, all of Cottondale, FL; and Danny White (Rosie) of Campbellton, FL

One Brother: Lorenza Brown (Ruby Nell) of Conyers, GA

Thirteen Grandchildren, Numerous Great Grandchildren
