Carrie Nell Russ

Mrs. Carrie Nell Russ age 55 of Lexington, Kentucky (formerly of Campbellton, FL) passed away Tuesday, November 13th at St. Joseph Main Hospital in Lexington. 

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday November 20th 2018 at the McKinnie Funeral Home Chapel located 5304 Bowden Hill Road Campbellton, FL. with Reverend Oscar Massey officiating McKinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton, FL. directing.

Sister Carrie Nell Sorey-Russ was born November 26th, 1962 to Mary and June Sorey. Spending her youth in the church, she accepted Christ into her heart at an early age. She would go on to marry Darrell Wayne Russ on December 12th, 1986 in Campbellton, Florida. 

She’d spend the rest of her life putting smiles on the faces of anyone she met and filling those that were blessed enough to build a close tight knit bond with her with a steady, ceaseless love that seems to grow with no end.

She was preceded in death by father June and sister Marcia Sorey.

She is survived by Her Husband: Darrell Russ of Columbus, GA; Her Son: Korraye Russ of  Columbus, GA; Her Mother: Mary Sorey of Campbellton, FL; Her Silblings: Bruce (Duane) Sorey, Jacob (Yvonne) Sorey, Mary (Kelly) Blue, and Jeanette (Grady) Stafford all of Campbellton, FL; Karen Ward of Lexington, Kentucky;  Her Brothers-in-law: Johnny Russ of Orlando, FL; James Russ of Tampa, FL; and Robert Russ of Campbellton, FL;  Her Sisters-in-law: Gloria Allen; and Joyce Russ of Queens, NY; Mary Nell Gary of Jacob City, FL; and Linda Pullin of Cottondale, FL. 

She was, and still is very much loved and will continue to fill our hearts with love. 

Alneta Pittman

Sister Alneta Pittman age 85 of Campbellton, FL passed away Monday November 5th at her residence surrounded by her loving family. 

Funeral services were held 12 p.m. Saturday November 10th 2018 at New Bethel C. M. E. Church located 2487 Hwy 2 Campbellton, FL., with Elder/Pastor Oscar Massey, Reverends Richard Curl, Earnestine Daniels and Douglas Cotton officiating. Interment followed in St. Paul/New Bethel Cemetery located at 5180 Hwy 273 Campbellton, FL 32426, with McKinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton, FL. directing. 

Sis. Alneta Pittman was born in Jackson County, Florida July 29, 1933 to the late Alfred Johnson Sr. and Magnolia Curl Johnson. She was converted at an early age and joined New Bethel C. M. E. Church of Campbellton, FL where she served as an Usher for 55 years.  She married Lewis Pittman and together they raised seven children.  

She was preceded in death by one sister, Sherman Robinson.

She is survived by Her Children: Mattie Booker (John) of Campbellton, FL; Howard McKinnie (Carolyn) of Campbellton, FL; Gene Otis Daniels (Jacquelyn) of Greenwood, SC; Michael Britt (Marilyn) of Campbellton, FL; Carol Pittman of Campbellton, FL; Sharon Pittman (Robert) of Macon, GA; and Catherine Pittman of Campbellton, FL. Two Sisters: Elneta Wesley of the Stateline Community and Viola Pittman (Foy Lee) of Campbellton, FL. One Brother: Alfred Johnson Jr (Henrietta) of Maplewood, NJ. 10 Grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, friends, in-laws and a dedicated friend (Elease Varner).

Leroy Cooper

Mr. Leroy Cooper (affectionally known as “Jabo” age 61 of Marianna, FL passed away Tuesday October 16th at his residence. 

Funeral services were held 1p.m. Saturday October 27th 2018 at McKinnie Funeral Home Chapel located 5304 Bowden Hill Road Campbellton, FL., with Reverends William Harvey and Wallace Godwin officiating. Interment followed in the Orange Hill Cemetery Marianna, FL with McKinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton, FL. directing. 

Leroy “Jabo” Cooper was born August 31, 1957 in Marianna, FL. to the late Zellie Glover and Janet Cooper Murphy. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and joined the Greater Buckhorn Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend William Harvey. 

He was a graduate of Marianna High School, and attended Florida A & M University where he received a bachelor degree in Criminal Justice. Upon completion he began a long and fulfilling career as a truck driver. His loved football, cooking and people.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory:

His Children: Tameshia Keys, Kamille Cooper, Janet Cooper, Clifton Cooper, Leroy Cooper, Jr., James and Timothy Paramore.

His Mother: Janet Cooper Murphy. 

His Grandchildren: Shae Keys, Tyheshia Dozier, Corey Johnson and Bailey Cooper.

His Brother: Clifton Murphy, Jr.

His Uncle: Walter James Glover. 

His Nephew: Samuel Clifton Murphy

His Special Friends: Rohan Anderson, Steve Holland, Phyllis Hall, Scotty White &  Family, Pearline Sims & Family, John Mark Dudley & Family and the Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church Family.

His lovely lady (Fiancée): Martha Lynn Paramore and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mary Lee Wilson

Ms. Mary Lee Wilson (affectionately known as Reatha) age 75 of Campbellton, Florida passed away Wednesday, September 12th at the Signature Health Care at the Courtyard in Marianna, Florida.  

Funeral service will be held at 11a.m. Saturday, September 22th at The Graceville Civic Center in Graceville, FL, with Elder James Glover and Pastor Willie Barkley officiating.  Interment will follow in the St. John Cemetery (Stateline Community)  with McKinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton directing.

A public viewing will held from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. Friday, September 21st at McKinnie Funeral Home Chapel. 

Mary Lee Wilson (affectionately known as “Reatha” to family and friends) was born on September 15, 1942 to the late Arthur Ward and Mallie Mae Tindel-Ward in Houston County, Alabama. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. John A.M.E. Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her children: Joe and Jerry Wilson; 

Her siblings: Martha Davis; Jimmy Ward; Freddie Ward; Arthur Ward; Henry Charles Ward;   Willie Lee Ward; Alfred Ward; Rosa Lee Cain; Cletta Hodges and Parie Lee Register.

She leave to cherish her memory; Her Loving Children: James Wilson, Jessie (Cynthia) Wilson of Cochran, GA; Sharon Ann Wilson of Campbellton, FL; Johnny Wilson; Felix (Kelley) Wilson of Fairbank, AK; Dorothy (David) McCauley of Dothan, AL; John (Brandi) Wilson of Tallahassee, FL; MacArthur (Pam) Wilson of Huntsville, AL;  Her Siblings; Kathy Farmer of Tallahassee, FL and Eddie (Wilma) Ward of Tallahassee, FL Thirty-nine Grandchildren; Twenty-seven Great-Grandchildren; A Special Cousin: Bobbie Rivers of Dothan, AL along with a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
