Willie Lee Speights

Mr. Willie Lee Speights age 88 of Marianna, Florida passed away Tuesday, February 5th at Big Ben Hospice, Inc., in Tallahassee, Florida.  

Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a. m. Saturday, February 16th at Antioch African Methodist Episcopal Church at 3701 Hwy 90 West in Marianna, Florida 32446 with Reverend’s Adrian Staley, Carlton Cotton and Freddie Roulac officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery with McKinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton directing.

A public viewing will held from 4:00 to 6:00 p. m. Friday, February 15th at McKinnie Funeral Home Chapel. 

Willie Lee Speights, Jr. was born October 29, 1930 in Jackson County, Florida to the late Willie Lee Speights, Sr. and Henretter Brown. He accepted Christ as his personal savior early in life at Antioch African Methodist Episcopal Church.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 35 years; Ida Mae Speights, his parents, three brothers and four sisters.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his children: Ella Brown of Marianna, Florida, Cynthia Myrick of Montgomery, Alabama, Genette Whych (Dennis) of Petersburg, Virginia, Lucious Helmes of Tampa, Florida, Ira Brown of Ozark, Alabama, Betty Johnson of Marianna, Florida and Angela (Bernard) Owens of Augusta, Georgia; his siblings: Hermon Speights (Margianna) and Louise McKinnon both of Saint Petersburg, Florida, Larry Speights, Angie Garrett and Beatrice Phillips (Lewis) of Atlanta, Georgia; 18 Grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Willie Joyce Thomas

Willie Joyce Thomas 60, Dothan AL. passed away January 28th at her residence.

Memorial Services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12th at  McKinnie Funeral Home Chapel located 5304 Bowden Hill Rd Campbellton, FL. with Elder Carolyn Morgan officiating and Mckinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton, FL in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by her husband Willie D. Thomas of Dothan, AL

Her Children: Pamela Reaves and Shanna Reaves both of Dothan, AL

Four Grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

 

James Robinson Jr.

Rev. James Robinson Jr., age 81 of Campbellton, FL passed away Wednesday January 23, 2019At Washington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chipley, Florida.  

Funeral services were held 2:30p.m. Saturday January 26th at Holyneck Missionary Baptist Church located 3395 Cemetery Lane Campbellton, Florida with the Reverends Richard Peterson Sr., Earnestine Daniels, Richard Curl and Oscar Massey officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with McKinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton, Florida. directing. 

Reverend Robinson was born September 26, 1937 in Jackson County, Florida to the late James Robinson, Sr. and Lucille Dudley. He was well known and respected as the pastor of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Marianna, Florida for 35 years and Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Columbia, Alabama. 

He served as a Councilman with the Town of Campbellton for a number of years, and retired from the Jackson County Road and Bridge Department after many years of employment. 

He was preceded in death by his late wife Viola Robinson and sons, George Dudley and James Earl Robinson. 

He leaves to cherish his loving memory: His Wife: Persey Bell Robinson; His Children: Kelly (Mary) Blue, Roosevelt (Cynthia) Robinson, Ray (Althea) Robinson, Annie Young, Shirley (Larry) Robinson, Lucy (Albert) Adderson, Connie Melton, and Eleanor Melton; His Sister: Bernice Kelly; 11 Grandchildren and a host other family members and friends. 

Bernard “Bernie/Nard” Gaines Herring

Mr. Bernard “Bernie/Nard” Gaines Herring, Sr. 83, of Dothan Alabama passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018 surrounded by his loving  family.

A Mass of Christian Burial were held at 10a.m. Wednesday, December 26th at St. Columba Catholic Church located 2700 West main Street in Dothan, AL, with Reverend Msgr. Patrick Gallagher officiating.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery located at 1700 Barring Road Dothan, AL with McKinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton directing.

Bernard was born on September 4, 1935 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Wesley Gaines, Sr. and Idell Patricia Smith Herring. 

He retired from the Navy in 1960 and Stone Container after 36 years.

He was an avid Ham Radio Operator, Deep Sea Fisherman, and an Electrical Engineer. 

He leaves to cherish his memories; his loving wife of 57 years Geraldine Daniels Herring of Dothan, Alabama; 3 sons: Bernard Gaines Herring, Jr. (Rosie) of Dothan, Alabama, Martin F. Herring (Beverly) and Eric C. Herring (Sherri) both of Jacksonville, Florida; 2 siblings: Nathaniel Herring of Jacksonville, Florida; Floria Herring Dew (Jay) of Houston, Texas and a host of Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
