Ricardo Macias - Tavares

Mr. Ricardo Macias - Tavares, 32, a resident of Greenwood, Florida passed away Friday, May 18, 2018 at his home in Greenwood, FL.  He was a faithful son, husband, father and provider for his family.  He loved his family dearly and considered his children to be his greatest accomplishments.  Ricardo enjoyed staying busy working, hunting, riding four-wheelers, driving his Can-Am Maverick, fishing, buying scratch offs, and listening to music; but most of all he loved to share and help others in need.  His father Victor said Ricardo was more than his son, he was his best friend, his lifetime partner and his right-hand man.  Ricardo will be deeply missed by his family, many friends and co-workers.

Ricardo is survived by his precious wife, Angelica Rodriguez; one daughter, Genesis Macias; one son, Jose Ricardo Macias; his mother, Maria Tavares; his father, Victor Macias as well as two brothers, Victor Macias, Jr and Miguel Angel Macias. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at McAlpin Funeral Home in Sneads, FL from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Central Time.  Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 12:00 PM Eastern Time in St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church in Quincy, Florida with Rev. Michael Somers officiating.  Interment will follow in Pope Cemetery with McAlpin Funeral Home directing.

Tommy Houck

Mr. Tommy Houck, 62, a lifelong resident of Havana, Florida passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 19, 2018 in Quincy, FL.  He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed attending church.  He loved growing crops and generously giving his harvest away to others.  Tommy was always the first to volunteer and assist another farmer in need.   He cherished his precious wife Michelle and loved his family and friends dearly. Tommy enjoyed traveling to and exploring new places as well as finding a good auction to attend.  He especially enjoyed family celebrations where he could sit back and watch his family fellowship and enjoy one another.  Tommy was a beloved husband, son, brother and uncle.  He will be deeply missed by his family, and many friends made throughout the years.

Tommy is survived by his precious wife of 20 years, Michelle Whitfield Houck; one sister, Frances Whittaker of Havana, FL; two brothers, William Charles Houck and his wife Linda of Havana, FL and Edward Houck and his wife Bonnie of Bandon, Oregon; two sisters in law, Pat Franklin and her husband Joe of Graceville, FL and Jo Smith and her husband Van of Bainbridge, Georgia; one brother in law, Mike Hankin of Havana, FL and several nieces and nephews. 

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Evelyn Houck and two sisters, Gail Houck and Doris Oliver.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 22, 2018 at McAlpin Funeral Home in Sneads, FL from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM EDT.  Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 23, 2018 at 2:00 PM EDT at the First Baptist Church of Chattahoochee with Rev. Robert Johns and Rev. Barry Cottle officiating.  Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery with McAlpin Funeral Home directing.

Evelyn B. Scott

Mrs. Evelyn B. Scott was born February 10, 1933 and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at her home in Chattahoochee, Florida while surrounded by her loving family. Evelyn joined the Chattahoochee First United Methodist Church in 1945 and married Mr. Norman Scott in 1951.  She taught a children’s Sunday School class, was an active choir member, program director and active Circle 4 member.  For many years Evelyn was a Chattahoochee UMC Children’s Home Representative, Bible School Teacher and active in the Wednesday morning breakfast group.  She was a long-time employee at Florida State Hospital and later retired from Apalachee Correctional Institution as a Registered Nurse.  She will be deeply missed by her family, and many friends made throughout the years.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents I. L. and Mary Brunson; a brother, Rufus Brunson and a daughter, Brenda Cheryl Scott.

Evelyn is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, Norman Scott; her children, Carey Scott and wife Danna, Randy Scott and wife Cathy, Tami Cribley and husband Donnie; her brother, Angus Brunson and wife Edwina; eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 20, 2018 at McAlpin Funeral Home in Sneads, FL from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM ET.  Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 4:00 PM ET in the McAlpin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Kramer officiating.  Interment will follow in Pope Cemetery with McAlpin Funeral Home directing.
