Anthony Roland Taylor

Sweet baby boy, Anthony Roland Taylor, was a little fighter who lived and loved in his mother’s arms until Jesus welcomed him home on April 18, 2018.

Anthony was born on April 17, 2018 at Gulf Coast Medical Center to Heath Roland Taylor and Savannah Brooke Capps. Although brief, the time he spent on this earth will forever impact those who loved and cherished him. Mommy and Daddy love you!

He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandmother: Donna Capps; maternal great grandparents: Wesley and Aileen Sistrunk; paternal great grandmother: Sharon Nicholsl.

He is survived by his loving parents, Heath Roland Taylor and Savannah Brooke Capps of Graceville, Florida; maternal grandparents: Mark Anthony and Shauna Foran of Cottondale, Florida; paternal grandparents: Regina and Heath Taylor of Chipley, Florida; maternal great grandparents:Naoma and Brady Foran of Cottondale, Florida; maternal great grandmother: Charlotte Foran of Grand Ridge, Florida; maternal great great grandmother: Linda Capps of Panama City, Florida; paternal great grandmother: Sara Thomas of Graceville, Florida; paternal great grandfather: Jim Nichols of Graceville, Florida; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and loved ones.

Funeral services will be held 2P.M. Friday, April 20, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Cottondale with Rev. Brian Braxton officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Church Cemetery in Altha, Florida with Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.

Travis E. Pettis

Travis E. Pettis, age 73, of Alford, Florida went home to be with the Lord on April 14, 2018 at Flower’s Hospital in Dothan, Alabama.

Travis was born on February 3, 1945 in Washington County, Florida to Carl Pettis Jr. and Ollie Mae Nelson. He was a lifelong resident of the Florida Panhandle and a graduate of Cottondale High School Class of 1964. He was also a member of Orange Hill United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his son, Tracy Earl Pettis and wife Dana of Manchester, Tennessee; brother: Robert Johnson of Marianna, Florida; sister: Patricia Register of Panama City, Florida; very close friend: Clerea Hodges and husband Robert of Marianna, Florida; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren’

Funeral services will be held 2:30P.M. Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Orange Hill United Methodist Church in Chipley, Florida. Interment will follow in Macedonia Cemetery in Cottondale, Florida with Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-8P.M. Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Obert Funeral Home in Chipley, Florida.

Caleb Nicolas Toole

Caleb Nicolas Toole, age 23 of Cottondale, passed from this life on February 17, 2018 at Bay Medical Center in Panama City, Florida.

Caleb was born on April 26, 1994 in Marianna, Florida to Travis Toole and Nikki Gore. A lifelong resident of the Florida panhandle, he was a 2012 graduate of Cottondale High School and a member of Friendship Assembly of God Church.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law: John Gwin.

He is survived by his wife: Chelsea Toole of Cottondale, Florida; father: David Toole and wife Sherry of Cottondale, Florida; mother: Nikki Yates and husband Jason Fears of Malone, Florida; two daughters: Allie and Taytum Toole of Cottondale, Florida; paternal grandparents: Travis and Glenda Toole of Graceville, Florida; maternal grandparents: Gerald and Joan Gore of Graceville, Florida; brother: Logan McCallister of Malone, Florida; five sisters: Lilli Toole of Cottondale, Florida, Maecie McCallister of Malone, Florida, Jamie Wade and husband Ricky of Cottondale, Florida, Karlie Whitehead and husband Tyeler of Cottondale, Florida, Deana Caudill of Graceville, Florida; mother-in-law: Crystal Gwin of Alford, Florida; three nieces: Adalynn Reeder of Cottondale, Florida, Rylee Wade of Cottondale, Florida, Hailey Wade of Cottondale, Florida; aunt: Carol Laycox of Graceville, Florida; numerous extended family and loved ones.

A celebration of life will be held 7P.M. Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Evangel Worship Center in Marianna, Florida with Pastor Gary Stephens officiating. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Octavia “Virginia” Thweatt

Octavia “Virginia” Thweatt age 86 of Cottondale, passed from this life on January 28, 2018 at her residence. Octavia, better known as “Tavie” by family and friends was born on May 3, 1931 in Jackson County, Florida to Lester and Emma (Corbin) Davis. She was a lifelong resident of the Florida Panhandle.

Tavie loved the Lord.  She grew up attending Sapp Church.  In her later days you could find her singing the old songs from the hymnal she kept by her chair.  She loved attending local gospel sings; as well as community festival and parades.  She loved the outdoors and took great pride in her seasonal gardens and flower bushes she grew in her yard.  Fishing was her most favorite past time.  She loved all of her animals, including her pampered chickens.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Foy Thweatt; her parents: Lester and Emma Davis; two brothers: Alfred Davis and Mitchell Davis; two sisters: Bessie Barnes and Ruby Corbin; and, beloved Pekingese puppy, Princess.

She is survived by her daughter: Sue Roberson of Marianna; two sons: Eddie Wheelus and Pete Wheelus, both of Marianna.  Two granddaughters, Jennifer Griffin and husband, Brad of Alford and Amber Roberson of Marianna.  Four great grandchildren: Syler Griffin, Maycee Claire Griffin, Evan Jones, Kaison McNealy; one sister in law: Willie Myrl Davis.  As well as, many special nieces and nephews and her beloved kitty, Breeze.

Graveside services will be held at 10 A.M. Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Salem Free Will Baptist Church in Cottondale, Florida with Rev. Lavon Pettis officiating. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.
