Mr. Henry D. Smith, Jr. of Greenwood, Florida transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Sunday, August 6, 2017 in Flowers Hospital.

Mr. Smith retired from Apalachee Correctional Institution where he served as the Education Administrator. To know him was to love him.

The Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 12:00 Noon from the sanctuary of the Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church located at 3695 Poplar Springs Road in Marianna, Florida 32446 with the Reverend Dwight Cockerham, Sr. (pastor), the Reverend Walter Marcus Smith, the Reverend Joseph Curry, the Reverend Joe Jackson, and the Reverend David Cobb officiating. Interment in the Mount Tabor Cemetery. Vann Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Smith will lie in repose at the church from 11:00 AM until time for the service.

A viewing will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Vann Funeral Home.

Two Daughters: Kristin McClellan (Detrick) of Midway, Florida; and Demetria Smith of Clearwater, Florida

Two Brothers: Bertram Smith (Monica) of San Antonio, Texas; Elroy Smith of Fayetteville, North Carolina

Four Sisters: Audrey Leeks of Marianna, Florida; Sallie Daniels (Wilson) of Dothan, Alabama; Martha Leslie (Hosea) of Marianna, Florida; and Rachel Crews (Tony) of Port St. Joe, Florida

Five Grandchildren: Kristopher Hawkes; David “DJ” Smith; Dylan McClellan; Kyla Russ; and Deja Smith

Mother-in-Law: Christine V. Long of Greenwood, Florida

Six Sisters-in-Law: Gloria Long Jones of Central Islip, New York; Delores C. Jennings (Nathaniel) of Ft. Montgomery, New York; Alma Pinkney of Sanford, Florida; Sharon Cooper and Joyce Cooper both of Greenwood, Florida; and Barbara Long of Missouri City, Texas

Two Brothers-in-Law: James Long (Debra) of Greenwood, Florida; and Culton Olds of Marianna, Florida

And a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends.
