Virginia Allene Battles

Virginia Allene Battles Virginia Allene Battles

Ms. Virginia Allene Battles of Grand Ridge entered into eternal rest of Tuesday, May 8th in Jackson Hospital following an extended illness.  She was 66 years old.

 A native of Calhoun County, she was of the Baptist faith and a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

Precious memories will forever remain with: two sisters, Christanna Anderson and Gladys Marie Battles both of Grand Ridge, Florida; two brothers, Cornelius Battles and wife Melissa of Grand Ridge, Florida and LaShon Gilbert of Port St. Lucie, Florida; five aunts, Mary Ann Wobbleton of Stuart, Florida, Floizell Smith, Sylvia Lewis, Sylone Robinson all of Grand Ridge, Florida and Mary Hearns of Greenwood, Florida; five uncles, Nathaniel Battles and wife Bessie, Herbert C. Battles and wife Elisa both of Blountstown, Florida, Bradley Battles of Stuart, Florida, Willie Smith and wife Emma of Geneva, Florida and Rev. T.C. Smith and wife Mary of Grand Ridge, Florida; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held Saturday, May 19th at 11a.m. at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Randy McMillian, Rev. Mark Dudley, Rev. John Smith and Rev. T.C. Smith officating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the caring staff at Peoples Funeral Home in Marianna, Florida.    

The remains will lie-in-repose for one hour prior to the 11a.m. funeral time on Saturday at Pleasant Hill.
