Mr. Rinzard Smith of Grand Ridge, Florida, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 9th at Jackson Hospital with his family at his side. He was 63 years old.
A native of Jackson County, he was of the Baptist faith and a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He was a retired laborer from the construction industry.
Precious memories will forever remain with a loving and devoted family; his wife of 40 years, Harriet G.. Smith of Grand Ridge, Florida; three daughters, Gunita Smith of Marianna, Florida, Dionne Smith of Grand Ridge, Florida and Chrissy Smith of Miami, Florida; two sons, Nickalist Lang (Rebecca) of Grand Ridge, Florida and Mario Faulk of Blountstown, Florida; his mother, Florizell Smith of Grand Ridge, Florida; two brothers, Solomon Smith and Dea. Abel Smith and wife Sherrika both of Grand Ridge, Florida; six sisters, Lillie Dickey, Diann Dawson and husband Calvin, Nora Smith, Nancy Smith all of Grand Ridge, Florida, Barbara Franklin and husband Adrian of Marianna, Florida and Ruthie Corker and husband Elijah of Gretna, Florida; one brother-in-law, Charles Gatlin and wife Nana of Tallahassee, Florida; four sisters-in-law, Carlyn Gatlin, Brenda Gatlin, Vernice Solomon all of Blountstown, Florida and Sherry Fagin and husband Al of Jacksonville, Florida; one god-sister, Christeen Garrett of Grand Ridge, Florida; 14 grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Marquice Smith, Ja’Vakia Brigham, LiRoy Travis, Angela Fagin, Makedra Thomas, Tyqwan Reed, Kentron Smith, Zy’Karia Edwards, Jaricka Thornton, Nikeysia McDuffie, Devonta McDuffie, Nicareyah Lang and Sharna Lang; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A homegoing celebration will be held Saturday, January 13th at 3p.m. at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Dwight Cockerham Sr., Rev. Randy McMillan, Rev. Mark Dudley, Rev. T.C. Smith and Min. John Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
He will lie-in-repose for one hour prior to the 3p.m. funeral time on Saturday at Mt. Tabor.
