Ana Garcia was sworn in last Friday afternoon in the courtroom she spent numerous hours trying cases in while working for State Attorney Glenn Hess. She is the newest member of the 14th Judicial Circuit Court, after being appointed by Governor Rick Scott earlier last month. The appointment fills the vacancy created when Judge William Wright resigned last year. Garcia is a graduate of the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
Garcia originally worked for the State Attorney’s office in 2004 and returned in 2011. She is currently the Jackson County Chief Assistant State Attorney for the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit. She has previously worked in private practice with Carlton Fields, P.A. and with Moye, O’Brien, Pickert, and Dillon, LLP.
Garcia said, “I am humbled by the outpouring of support that I received from the community during this process and am grateful for the opportunity to serve in this capacity.”
Garcia is married to Jeff Snell and has two children Christian and Jackson Kent, and one step-daughter Amy Snell.
