2018-19 Administrators assignments are finalized Featured

2018-19 Administrators assignments are finalized

Jackson County Superintendent of Schools Larry Moore has made his selection for administrators for the 2018-19 school year.  The County Office will remain as is with Cheryl McDaniel as Deputy Superintendent of Schools, Carolyn Pilcher as Director of Early Childhood and Elementary Education, Shawn Larkin as Director of Exceptional Student Education, and Kathy Sneads as Director of Finance. Jennifer See will continue as Director of Secondary Education, Shirl Williams as Director of Student Services, Michael Kilts as Director of Federal Programs/Grants, Phyllis Daniels as Director of Vocational Programs, and James H. ‘Petey’ Sims as Director of Transportation. 

Jessica Craven will remain as principal of Cottondale Elementary with Ken Granger staying at Cottondale High School.  Zanda Warren will return to Cottondale High School as assistant principal.  Amy Allen will begin her second year as principal at Golson Elementary.  Graceville High School will have new leadership after this year’s principal Julie Burdeshaw retired. Former assistant principal Jajuan Clark will move into the principal’s position. Former Grand Ridge principal Laura Kent will move across the county and take over Graceville Elementary with Laurence Pender departing Graceville to become the principal at Grand Ridge. Tim Baggett will remain at Grand Ridge as assistant principal.

Dr. Millicent Braxton will once again head up Hope School as principal with Rex Suggs remaining at Jackson Alternative.  Brian Tice will stay put as administrator at The Early Childhood Center.  Doug Powell will stay home at his beloved Malone School with assistant principal Bryant Hardy remaining in that spot.  Mr. Bulldog himself, Hunter Nolen will return to Marianna High School with assistants Travis Blanton and Sybil Rivers joining him again for next school year. 

Reliable Eddie Ellis will be at Marianna Middle School and Dr. Melanie Mitchell and Carlan Martin will both return to MMS as assistant principals. Jolly Chris Franklin will once again be greeting the students at Riverside Elementary with SueAnn Tharpe ready and able as his assistant. Steve DeWitt departs as assistant principal at Golson to travel east to become principal at Sneads Elementary, replacing retiring Mindy Howell. Ron Mitchell and Kristy Edwards will both return to Sneads High School as principal and assistant principal.  

Assistants for Golson, Cottondale Elementary, Sneads Elementary, Graceville Elementary, Graceville High School and Sneads Elementary have not been announced as of press time.
