The Town of Greenwood will be hosting a “Let’s Go Fly A Kite” Fun Day in the town park on Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This event is free of charge. Vendor space is available for local farmers and crafters for a nominal fee. Please contact Town Hall at 850-594-1216 for more information.

Alford Community Health Clinic (ACHC) is changing its days of operation to one Saturday per month. Beginning in April, ACHC will be open on the 4th Saturday of each month, from 10 AM until the last patient is seen. It will be open Saturday, March 25, as usual. This is a free medical clinic for those persons with no insurance and who meet the Federal income guidelines. The Clinic is staffed by qualified physicians, nurses and courteous assistants dedicated to providing quality health care to those with short-term illnesses, as well as chronic conditions. Further information is available by telephoning 850-272-0101 or 209-5501, and walk-ins are always welcome. All patients are urged to sign-in before 11:00 AM. Alford Community Health Clinic is located two blocks east of Hwy 231 in Alford, at 1770 Carolina Street.

Jackson County Tax Collector, Mary Carol Murdock, has announced that the 2016 tax bill reminder notices have been mailed to all property owners with unpaid 2016 Ad Valorem Taxes.  She wants to remind everyone that taxes will become delinquent April 1, 2017 and a 3% penalty will be imposed at that time.  The Tax Collector’s office will accept payments by mail that is postmarked March 31 for the 2016 taxes without a penalty.  However, if taxes are not paid before May, a $10.00 advertising fee will be added according to FL Statute and all delinquent 2016 taxes will be advertised in the Graceville News this year.  We will have copies available at each of the branch offices located in Sneads, Graceville, Driver License Office and in the Tax Collector’s office of the courthouse.  Tax Certificates will be sold June 1st on all unpaid taxes.

Sexual Assault Survivors Group - hosted by Gulf Coast Sexual Assault Program for ages 18 and above first & third Thursdays of each month in 2017. Location: Gulf Coast sap Program office 2901 Madison St., Marianna from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Refreshments provided.  The purpose of this group is to provide support for adult survivors of sexual assault and those who were sexually abused as children. Survivors will be provided an atmosphere that helps them gain an understanding about sexual assault and how it has affected their lives. This group will create an empowering environment where participants can learn new coping skills, identify personal goals and build relationships. The Campbellton VFD will be holding a community yard sale on April 8, 2017 and it is looking for vendors to fill spaces. Each space will be approximately 10 X 25 and is just $15. As long as it is legal, it can be sold. NO commission  or any other other fees are applied.The setup can begin at 6;30 am and it will run until dark, or every one sells out.  The location for the yard sale will be in the parking lot for the Campbellton Community Center, located just off the Hwy 231 and Hwy 2 intersection. Flea thru Greenwood 2017 - April 14 and April 15 - Spring is upon us and it’s time to do a little cleaning. Sign up to be part of our community wide flea market event. Venue fee is $5.00 per residence. The town will post a map of participating residences and provide a balloon marking your location. The Town’s Park will also be available for use during this event (with event registration only).
