Suicide Attempt Survivor Jordan Burnham to be Keynote Speaker

PANAMA CITY, Fla. - In recognition of National Suicide Prevention Week, Life Management Center of Northwest Florida will hold its 3rd Annual Suicide Prevention Conference on Thursday, September 13, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The conference will be held at the FSU Panama City Holley Center. It is free and open to the public.

This year's conference will focus on preventing adolescent suicide and features Jordan Burnham, a public speaker who discusses his experience with depression and his attempt at suicide when he was a senior in high school. Burnham has been featured in Sports Illustrated, People Magazine, and USA Today. He has also appeared on ESPN's E:60 and Outside the Lines, CNN, Dr. Phil, Good Morning America and other national broadcasts.

In addition to the keynote speaker, a Community Forum will be held in which a panel of local community members who work with adolescents will be available to answer questions on the prevention of suicide. The panel will be made up of a psychiatrist, a minister, and representatives from Bay District Schools and the Department of Juvenile Justice.
