The University of Florida, Jackson County Extension Service and Jackson Hospital are once again collaborating to present a free Community Lunch and Learn featuring local Ear Nose and Throat physician, Dr. Angelo Consiglio, Wednesday, April 18, 2018, 12 noon to 1 pm, at the Jackson Agricultural Complex on Penn Avenue. This is a free event open to the public with a complimentary lunch.
Oral cancers are one of the most preventable cancers. Do you know the risk factors and symptoms? According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), “approximately 30,000 Americans are diagnosed each year” with oral cancer. The NIH also notes there has been a 15% increase in the last three decades. The current Florida Health Charts (year 2014) reports Jackson County has a 9.9% crude incidence rate of oral cancer indicating just over a half percentage point increase from 2013. We are delighted to have Dr. Consiglio, a board-certified Ear-Nose-and-Throat and Allergy Medicine physician, present an educational program on prevention and treatment of oral cancer. As part of the formal program, Dr. Consiglio will take questions from participants.
Dr. Consiglio has a full-time practice in our area from which he diagnoses and treats both children and adults for many common ailments ranging from sinusitis, allergies, ear infections, tinnitus, ear infections, and much more.
Please join us for this educational event, have lunch on us and learn a few things regarding oral cancer. Again, this is a free program on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 12 noon to 1 pm at the Jackson Agricultural Complex on Penn Avenue. Please call 850-718-2884 to reserve your free lunch and we look forward to seeing you there.
