The Jackson County Christmas Fund is a non-profit organization that coordinates Christmas activities in Jackson County in order to avoid duplication of services. The Christmas Fund Committee would like to ask any church or organization planning on assisting Jackson County residents or families with food, toys or clothing during the holidays to contact them to ensure that as many families as possible can be provided assistance for the Christmas season. The Jackson County Christmas Fund also  provides assistance, as funds are available, for working families, single parents working or attending school and eligible senior citizens. In addition, we obtain sponsors for foster children and senior citizens residing in our community. If you are in need of assistance this holiday season you may call the Jackson County Christmas Fund phoneline at 718-7768 after October 1st to obtain an application. The phoneline will be open for referrals October 1st thru October 17th. Application deadline is October 25th. All applications must be received by the deadline in order for the applicant to be considered for assistance.

The regular meeting of the Jackson County Public Library Advisory Board will be October 25, 2017 at 3:00 pm in the conference room of the library.

Make plans now to join Florida Agriculture in the Classroom for the Fall Teacher Training and Farm Tour in Jackson County sponsored by Jackson County 4-H.  This event is scheduled for Tuesday November 7th from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM at the Jackson County Ag Complex and Conference Center on Penn Avenue. The workshop will feature curriculum connections on fall crops and how to incorporate agriculture into the classroom! The morning sessions will include curriculum, make ‘n takes and activities to share with your students! The afternoon session will include a farm tour to a cotton farm and a cotton gin so that participants can experience their local agriculture!
